Spaces are allowed; punctuation is not allowed except for periods, hyphens, and underscores.

A valid e-mail address. All e-mails from the system will be sent to this address. The e-mail address is not made public and will only be used if you wish to receive a new password or wish to receive certain news or notifications by e-mail.

Provide a password for the new account in both fields.

Your virtual face or picture. Maximum dimensions are 500x500 and the maximum size is 10000 kB. Your picture will be cropped around the edges to a square and scaled down to fit in various places on the site: your profile page, your blog posts, and your comments. The degree of scaling and cropping will increase to show the picture at smaller sizes (taking up to 20% off each side before cropping to a square), so please have the focus of your picture large, centered, and with at least some surrounding space. The largest the picture will be shown is 384 pixels square; the smallest will be 48 pixels square.
