DEMONSTRATION AGAINST FOREIGN OWNERSHIP OF MEDIA

The CRTC has approved CanWest’s purchase of Alliance Atlantis, letting foreign ownership of our media in through the back door.

Problem: Ownership of our media is on the table at these hearings. CanWest has been gutting newsrooms across the country. Our Canadian reflection in information and dramatic programming is being eroded. Now CanWest is linking arms with a giant investment house.

The CRTC must respect its mandate: Regulate in the interests of Canadians. Do its job!
