Keep TV Free

Canada's TV networks are out to create a second class of Canadians: the 11 million people in smaller cities and towns who will soon lose the ability to watch FREE TV.

If you live in a smaller community, your only option will be to pay for cable or satellite while Canadians in major cities will continue to have free TV.

Take action! Tell them you don't agree.

Our TV Not Big Media's

ACTRA has launched a Our TV website to, "to remind private broadcasters and cable companies that they don’t own the airwaves, we do. It’s a place to give regular Canadians who are tired of being held hostage by cable jacking-up their bills and private broadcasters threatening to cut local news a voice."

With big media and big cable interests both running campaigns claiming to be on the side of consumers, it's good to see a website that is independent of these two interests.

Make Media Fresh on Oct 24th

Tickets just went on sale for Fresh Media - an exciting exploration of the intersection between media, art and technology. We'll be using the new, amazing W2 space at 112 W Hastings to celebrate innovation and independent media, and to re-imagine media and journalism in the digital age.
